Online communication assistant

 

The French American Chamber of Commerce of Houston is looking for an enthusiastic talent to manage the organisation’s online contents.  The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design skills.

Ultimately, you should be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional designs.

Duration: at least 4 months

Full time is a plus

Part-time to fit the student university schedule

Availability: ASAP

 

Responsibilities

  • Creating press kits and packets as needed
  • Assisting with the creation and distribution of press releases
  • Assisting with representing FACC at press and community events
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Pro-actively provide content for social media
  • Taking a lead role in developing FACC’s online presence via other new media venues
  • Generating story ideas and content for the printed newsletter, High Line Blog, Twitter, and Facebook

Requirements

  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Up-to-date with the latest Web trends, techniques and technologies
  • Degree in Communication, Marketing, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design or a Visual Arts subject
  • Interest in French-American community is welcome
  • Speaking French is a plus (not mandatory)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset : goal oriented people, able to work with limited supervision
  • Details oriented
