LOCATION: 4700 W Sam Houston Pkwy N, Ste. 250, Houston, TX 77041 – Domestic and International travel as necessary

SCHEDULE: Full-Time

1. SUMMARY OF POSITION

The position supports the Business Development, Financial Reporting and Project Valuation functions of the Company for North and South America projects, by developing and maintaining complex valuation and financial statement models that will support M&A transactions and financial statement preparation. This position is responsible for contributing to the development effort of the Company by ensuring accurate financial evaluation of potential target projects.

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1. DUTIES

  • Provide analytical support for M&A due diligence by building complex Excel financial models to forecast business valuation, cash flows, and pro forma consolidated financial statements
  • Participate in strategic planning, financial statement preparation and budget processes
  • Compile and analyze financial information to evaluate the impact of different capital structures and potential M&A transactions
  • Build and maintain complex Excel energy and congestion revenue forecast models to determine energy hedging settlements
  • Build and maintain complex Excel asset impairment model to support financial statement carrying value
  • Prepare sophisticated power point presentations for executive management and the Board of Directors
  • Maintain custody and back-up of financial models. Assume responsibility for the integrity of the data contained in the models and assure that adequate systems documentation is in place

2.2. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Analysis
  • Assistance in execution of transactions (including meeting and interacting with management teams as part of the due diligence process)
  • Industry research and competitive analysis
  • Archive financial models and related support

3. QUALIFICATIONS

3.1. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related
  • 1-2 years of experience in the job offered or a related job structuring and analyzing mergers and acquisitions (M&A); performing financial modeling and valuations; performing due diligence within M&A transactions; developing and implementing M&A strategies; analyzing impact of strategic decisions on overall business and communicating with executives and key stakeholders inside and outside the organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business Intelligence Systems, etc. preferred
  • Expert in MS Excel and database maintenance
  • Good MS PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in investment banking, accounting, finance, or the energy industry desired

3.2. COMPETENCES

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency required. Both a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to prioritize and manage large volume of tasks
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multitask and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Self-starter that thrives on complexity and solution finding
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word); the candidate is expected to have experience building and working with large data validation files (Pivots, V-Lookups) as well as some experience of building macros in MS Excel
